It enhances creativity, facilitates good practice, promotes professional development and helps improve therapeutic effectiveness* Clinical supervision is not about looking down from a superior position. Good supervision involves actively moving positions such that the I, the supervisor, and you, the supervisee, can zoom out to explore the wider panorama in which the therapeutic work is taking place and zoom in to focus on specific phenomena arising from such work. Whether you are a student counsellor looking for your first supervisor or an experienced counsellor seeking someone new, I seek to co-create an experience that is both safe and containing yet challenging and enthusiastically explorative.
